MEGA ARTIFICIAL LIMBS CAMP ORGANIZED BY ROTARY CLUB CHANDIGARH CENTRAL

A free mega artificial limbs Camp is being organized by Rotary Club Chandigarh Central, under the aegis of Chandigarh University, Gharuan, at the University campus from April 28 to May 1, 2024.

All the artificial limbs will be manufactured by Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti (Jaipur Foot) with state-of-the-art machinery.

Rotarian Sunil Kansal, President, Rotary Club Central Chandigarh, said that several such camps have been organized during the last two years where prosthetic limbs have been distributed to about 2500 beneficiaries. With this initiative, people's lives have become easier, as they are now able to accomplish their daily chores effortlessly.

He further stated that Rotary Club distributes free organs to the needy. He also mentioned that children above 10 years and elderly people, who have lost their hand in any accident or amputated due to any reason, can benefit from this camp. Lightweight, durable and functional artificial limbs would be distributed among the needy with which they will be able to perform various daily activities with much ease, said Mr. Kansal.

On this occasion, in addition to Rotarian Sunil Kansal President, Rotarian Vebhu Bhatnagar Secretary and Rotarian RS Cheema Project Chairman, several club members are participating in the camp. Wg Cdr (Dr) Jasbir Singh Minhas Additional Director social welfare services was also present during the opening day of the camp at the University campus.
