Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three accused including an Inspector of Haryana Police and two private persons while accepting bribe of Rs. 5 lakh from the complainant.

CBI registered a case on a complaint against said Inspector of Haryana Police on allegations that accused Inspector of Haryana Police threatened the complainant and demanded an illegal gratification of Rs.40 lakh from him in lieu of not framing the complainant in a case under investigation. After negotiations accused agreed to accept bribe of Rs.5 lakh.

CBI laid a trap and caught two accused (private persons) red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5 lakh at the behest of said Inspector. Subsequently said Inspector of Haryana Police was also caught during further trap proceedings.

The accused persons have been arrested. Searches were conducted at residential and office premises of all accused persons which led to recovery of incriminating documents. Investigation is continuing.
