Under the special campaign monitored by SSP Dr. Pragya Jain, a large quantity of drugs and stolen goods have been seized by the Fazilka police during the last three days. 8 cases have been registered under the Excise Act and 5 accused have been arrested, from whom 470 bottles of liquor, 2200 liters of lahan and an operational furnace have been recovered.
A total of 4 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act and 4 accused have been arrested from whom 25 grams of heroin, 8.5 kg of poppy husk, drug money of Rs. 20,700 and 6920 narcotic pills and capsules have been seized. 7 accused have been arrested after registering 4 cases against the miscreants who committed theft and robbery. 14 stolen motorcycles, 2 stolen batteries have been recovered. Proclaimed offenders are also being caught and produced in the court.
(SUBHEAD)During the last three days, a total of 10 fugitives have been arrested and preventive action has been taken against 40 miscreants. A total of 787 arms have been deposited from the licence holders. 11 Non Bailable Warrants (NBW) issued by the Hon'ble Court have been served.
People's problems are being heard on priority basis. A total of 405 applications/cases have been disposed of during the last three days. Drug traffickers will not be spared under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against them, the SSP said.
