2017 batch IPS officer Dr. Pragya Jain took charge as SSP of Fazilka on Saturday. She was given a guard of honour by the police force.
She said that her aim would be to crack down on anti-social elements, especially crimes against women and children.
Dr. Jain said that anti-social elements, gangsters and drug traffickers will not be spared and such anti-social elements will be subject to strict action as per law.
The SSP said that Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in a fair and peaceful manner. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, such an environment will be created in the district where people can vote without any fear.
(SUBHEAD) She had earlier served as DCP City Amritsar, ADCP Ludhiana and Jalandhar Commissionerate, SP (D) Khanna and ASP Barnala.
Known for her attitude of leading from front and going beyond the call of duty to serve needy persons, she was behind the busting of infamous Agra and Mathura gangs leading to seizure of intoxicants worth Rs 3 crore during her tenure as the ASP in Barnala. She also busted a pharma opioid drug racket in Ludhiana and seized over 60 lakhs intoxicants. During her tenure at Khanna, she was behind the recovery of over 200 illegal weapons.
She has also received the DGP Commendation Disc and is known for taking many new initiatives in the department.
