VIGILANCE NABS BARNALA MC BUILDING INSPECTOR FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF 25 K

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its drive against corruption in the state, on Friday arrested Harbaksh Singh, posted as Building Inspector at Municipal Council Barnala while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.

(MOREPIC1) Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above mentioned accused has been arrested on a complaint lodged by Rashpal Singh, a resident of Barnala.

He further added that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Building Inspector was demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 for passing the map of his motor workshop situated at Handiaya chowk, Barnala city and the deal has been struck at Rs 25,000.

The spokesperson informed that after preliminary investigation of this complaint a VB team laid a trap and the said accused was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

In this regard a FIR under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the accused at police station VB range Patiala. Further investigation into this case was under progress, he said.
