PROPERTY TAX PAYERS TO GET 100% REBATE IN PROPERTY TAX INTEREST TILL MARCH 31, 2023 ALONG WITH 15% REBATE IN THE OUTSTANDING AMOUNT

Face2News/Chandigarh

Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta said that keeping in mind the interests of the general public, the state government has extended the last date for property tax interest and other exemptions to March 31 for the convenience of property tax payers.

He said that now till March 31, 2024, 100 percent rebate will be provided on the interest on property tax due till March 2023 and 15 percent rebate on the outstanding principal amount. Apart from this, 15 percent rebate is being given on property tax for the year 2023-24.

Dr. Gupta appealed to all property taxpayers in municipal areas to immediately self-certify their property and avail of this exemption. He said that notices are being issued to all property taxpayers in municipal areas who have not deposited their property tax in the municipal treasury for quite some time. Even after the notice, if the taxpayer does not deposit their property tax, their property will be sealed under Section 1994 of the Municipal Act.

He explained that if anyone has any discrepancies in property-related details such as name, area, category, etc., they can file a complaint on the online portal https://ulbhryndc.org. He said that the Haryana government has provided exemptions in property tax by self-certifying their property data in the municipal area by property taxpayers authorized by the Haryana government.
