Days after the visit of Director, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sunil Bansal to the staff crunched Civil Hospital here; Dr. Manisha Verma has taken charge of the long-vacant post of gynaecologist at the Hospital in Abohar. This is expected to bring major relief to pregnant women.
Dr. Manisha had earlier also served at the same hospital as a medical officer. She has completed a three-year MD in Obstetrics and gynaecology from Government Medical College, Patiala.
Her appointment is expected to improve the hospital’s facilities for regular check-ups of women, normal deliveries, and caesarean operations. So far, due to the absence of a specialist, many women had to go to private hospitals or other cities for expensive treatment.
On taking charge, Civil Surgeon of Fazilka Dr. Kavita Singh, SMO Abohar Dr. Sumit Singh, and the staff extended their best wishes to her.
