In Haryana, some unidentified persons opened fires on Nafe Singh Rathi, state president of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), the party of former Chief Minister Omprakash Chautala, on Sunday evening. Rathi and one of his security personnel were killed, while two security personnel were injured in the attack near Barahi Gate of Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district.

According to the police, Rathi was sitting on the front seat of the car. There were bullets in his neck and waist. The injured are being treated at Brahmashakti Sanjeevani Hospital. INLD MLA Abhay Chautala has confirmed the death of Nafe Singh Rathi.

At the time of the attack, Rathi was traveling in his Fortuner car, while the attackers came in an I-10 car.

Jhajjar SP Arpit Jain said that Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and Special Task Force (STF) have been deployed in this case.
