CHANDIGARH TOPS THE CHART WITH MASSIVE WIN OVER ODISHA

After a crushing nine-wicket defeat from Saurashtra at the ongoing Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at their own home ground last week, UT boys made their comeback in the tournament with a one-innings and 165-run win over Odisha at another league match played at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 on Monday. With this win, Chandigarh are now at the top of the Elite C Group with 17 points from four matches with two wins, one loss and one draw.

Odisha was bundled out for 56 in their first innings against Chandigarh’s 291. Chiraz (2/9) wrapped up the both tailenders to finish the inning. No batter could touch double figures. Harshit (3/13) and Amit Shukla (3/23) shared three wickets each. 

In-form bowler Amit Shukla (6/26) consumed the Odisha in their second innings to reduce the side at 70 in the 20th over. Om (13) was the top scorer. Nishunk Birla (2/8) and Chiragveer Dhindsa (2/10) shared two wickets each.

Amit Shukla took a total of nine wickets in the match. Shukla has taken a total of 27 wickets in the eight innings of the four matches and now ranked at the top three wicket takers in the tournament.

Chandigarh's next match will start against hosts Jharkhand from February 4 at Dhanbad.
