A team of Southern Range, Special Cell, led by Inspr. Man Singh under the supervision of Sh. Ved Prakash, ACP/SR and Sh. Alok Kumar, DCP/SR, Special Cell has arrested two criminals, namely (1) Subeg Singh @ Shibbu s/o Gurbaksh Singh r/o Mehrauli, Delhi, age 32 years, and (2) Saurabh @ Gaurav s/o Naresh Kumar r/o Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, age 32 years. Both the accused persons are desperate criminals of the Neeraj Bawana/Naveen Bali gang and were wanted in an attempt to murder case of Police Station Lajpat Nagar, Delhi.
Mr.H.G.S. Dhaliwal, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police Special Cell, Delhi, said, for the past few months, a dedicated team of the Southern Range, Special Cell has been working to track down and nab the members of the Neeraj Bawana/Naveen Bali gang. The painstaking and relentless efforts of the police team finally yielded a positive result when, on January 3, 2024, specific information was received that two wanted criminals of this gang woul d come to the Munirka area to meet their associates.
Accordingly, a team led by Inspr. Man Singh, consisting of SIs Manish, Sunder, and Shiv Mangal, ASIs Dinesh and Virender, HCs Manjeet, Rajeev, Abhishek, Narpat, Rohit, Ramjas, and Vikas, and Cts. Sonu and Vipin, was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Ved Prakash, ACP/Spl. Cell/SR, to apprehend the accused persons. The team laid a trap in the Munirka area, and both the accused persons, namely Subeg Singh @ Shibbu and Saurabh @ Gaurav, were apprehended.(SUBHEAD)
GANG HISTORY : There has been a long-standing rivalry between Kapil Panwar and Neeraj Bawana/Naveen Bali gangs so as to establish supremacy in the South Delhi area. Further, the Neeraj Bawana/Naveen Bali group has recruited new and young members, and thus this gang has become one of the most deadly gangs in Delhi/NCR. In order to attain dominance over the Kapil Panwar gang, Subeg Singh and Saurabh of the Neeraj Bawana/Naveen Bali syndicate had waylaid, attacked, and mercilessly beaten Rohit Singh (a financer) in the area of Lajpat Nagar on November 3, 2023.
The accused had also fired many rounds targeting Rohit Singh, but he luckily escaped unhurt. However, one of the bullets fired by the assailants hit an unknown person. Subeg Singh is previously involved in half a dozen criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, Arms Act, etc. in Delhi. His associate Saurabh @ Gaurav is also involved in half a dozen criminal cases of heinous nature in Delhi. He is a BC of Bundle (A) of PS Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. In 2019, Subeg Singh, Neeraj Bawana, and Naveen Bali were arrested in a shootout in the area of PS Kanjhawala when they fired gunshots at one of their rivals.
