Army kid Zara Swittens of Jaipur recently competed at the ‘Junior National Equestrian Championship 2023’ held at Bangalore. She shone in her category by winning an Individual Silver Medal with an impressive 71.5 percent in Dressage in her Category, marginally missing the gold won at 72 percent. She was also instrumental in getting her team members to win the Silver Medal in the Team Dressage Event by being the highest scoring rider.

Earlier, Zara had competed in the FEI Children’s Classic 2023 which saw some of the best horses in India competing for laurels at the Event. This was an International Event held at New Delhi.

Zara started her journey in the Equestrian World at the young age of 3 and has never looked back since. She dreams to one day represent the country at the Olympics and win a medal for the Nation. She is now preparing for the upcoming CSN Jumping to be held at New Delhi and is hoping to keep up her stellar performance.

Zara comes from a lineage of Army Officers and trains with her father Lt Col Danni Swittens of 61st Cavalry, who is an accomplished rider himself. He has won a silver medal for India in Eventing at the Asian Championship in Thailand and has represented the country on numerous occasions.
