The City-1 police have busted a motorcycle thieves’ gang, by arresting four youths. A case was registered against them under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the BNS.

Superintendent of Police, Ashwant Singh, said that while ASI Bhupinder Singh and his team were conducting routine patrols and checks near Bharat Mala Road, an informer revealed that Anmol and Rajwinder were involved in stealing motorcycles, while their accomplices, Ritansh and Ritik Soni, would subsequently sell the stolen vehicles to their acquaintances. Acting on this intelligence, the police conducted a raid, arrested all four suspects, and recovered two stolen motorcycles from their possession.

Sources said that among the arrested individuals, Rajwinder Singh’s father has passed away, and he works as a conductor on a mini-truck (Canter). Ritansh has completed the Class 12 grade and was planning to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Ritik Soni has completed Class 11 studies and was preparing to continue studies for Class 12. The fourth accused, Anmol, has also completed Senior Secondary (Class12) studies. It reportedly surfaced that they had formed a gang in the recent past and were creating terror using sharp edged weapons.
