Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann met the family of international kabaddi player Gurjeet Singh Toot and expressed condolences over his untimely demise. The Chief Minister announced a government job for Gurjeet’s wife, Gursharan Kaur, and assured the family of all possible support from the Punjab Government.
Mann also announced that a modern sports stadium would be constructed at village Toot in memory of the renowned kabaddi player. The facility will provide youngsters from the village and adjoining areas with better opportunities to pursue sports and develop their talent.
The meeting was facilitated by Faridkot MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon, who remained present with Gurjeet’s family, including his wife and daughter Gurseerat, during the interaction. Mann recalled Gurjeet’s contribution to kabaddi and said his achievements and service to Punjab would continue to inspire the younger generation.
Notably, Gurjeet Singh Toot, a renowned kabaddi player, had passed away on August 12. His last rites were performed at his native village. His untimely death had evoked grief across the sports fraternity and the region.
