A team of New Delhi Range, Special Cell, Delhi has arrested one shooter of Hashim Baba gang namely Shadab Ahamad, @ Shadab Chappal. He is maternal nephew of gangster Suhail Chappal, currently in jail.
Shadab Ahmad @ Shadab Chappal, 28 years, S/o Shri Rahis Khan, R/o Jafarabad, Delhi, was absconding from last 2 years.
On 11.04.2026, a specific information was received about the movement of Shadab in the area of Gadi Mendu, North East, Delhi. He was apprehended in the late evening of 11.04.2026 from Gadi Mendu area, near Signature Bridge, Delhi. One loaded semi-automatic pistol and 5 live cartridges were recovered from his possession. A case under relevant sections of Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell in this regard.
Shadab Chappal was wanted in case FIR No. 127/2024, dated 10.03.2024, u/s 302/307/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act, PS Seelampur, Delhi. In this case, on 09.03.2024, on the busy road of Seelampur, Delhi, shooters of Hashim Baba gang namely Shadab @ Chappal along with Umar and others opened fire on two members of their rival Chenu gang namely Arbaz and Abid @ Bhondu. Arbaz died in this firing.
During investigation, it has been found that Arbaz was killed by Shadab @ Chappal because Arbaz had harassed his maternal uncle Suhail @ Chappal while both were in Mandoli jail.
Shadab @ Chappal has also been declared proclaimed offender in an attempt to murder case FIR No. 394/2020, u/s 307/34 IPC, PS Jafarabad, Delhi as he was not attending the Trial Court in this matter.
Mohd. Adi @ Adil @ Tavis
Earlier, on 03.04.2026, a team of New Delhi Range, Special Cell, Delhi arrested another member of Hashim Baba gang namely Mohd. Adi @ Adil @ Tavis, 24 years, S/o Noor Mohd. R/o Jafrabad, Delhi.
One loaded semi-automatic pistol and 6 live cartridges were recovered from Adil. A case under relevant sections of Arms Act and BNS has been registered at PS Special Cell in this regard.
Mr. Praveen Kumar Tripathi, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, NDR, Special Cell, said the operation was based on an input that Adil @ Tavis was identifying targets for extortion for the jailed gangsters Asad and Danish @ Malli of Hashim Baba gang. Acting on the input, a team of Special Cell in the late evening of 03.04.2026, apprehended Mohd. Adi @ Adil @ Tavis from the area of North East Delhi.
