During the 19th edition of the five-day World Sanskrit Conference reflecting Nepal’s sacred connection to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, the organizers dedicated a special session to the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan – the unique Vedantic philosophy revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
In the late 18th century, Bhagwan Swaminarayan had journeyed across Nepal for nearly three years, sanctifying the land through his austerities, yogic practices, and divine knowledge. It was during this sacred journey that he expounded the core principles of the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan, which has since become a revered school of Vedantic thought.
(SUBHEAD)A special academic session on Akshar-Purushottam Darshan involved esteemed scholars from Nepal, India, the United States, China, Japan, and various European nations.
The session was chaired by Mahamahopadhyaya Swami Bhadreshdas, author of the Swaminarayan Bhashyas, a commentary on the Prasthana Trayi, and a globally recognized scholar of Vedanta.
Scholars, who presented research papers on various tenets of the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan, included Prof. Dr. Atmatruptdas Swami, Prof. Dr. Aksharananddas Swami, Prof. Acharya Brahmananddas Swami, Prof. Dr. Gnanatruptdas Swami, Prof. Dr. Sagar Acharya, Prof. Acharya Tarun Dhola, Prof. Acharya Harikrishna Pedhadiya, Acharya Tejas Koria. Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi presented the key-note remarks.
Mahamahopadhyaya Swami Bhadreshdas emphasized the sanctity of Nepal, Bhagwan Swaminarayan journey, and the divine truths of the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan he shared with seekers.
Kashinath Nyaupane, National Coordinator of the World Sanskrit Conference, formally declared, “Today, we in Nepal joyfully welcome, honor, and establish the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan.”
