An unbeaten knock of 42 off 62 balls by wicketkeeper-batter Gagan Verma helped Sukhna Zone secure a five-wicket victory over Plaza Zone at the ongoing UTCA Men's Senior ODI Tournament at the Cricket Institute of Chandigarh on Monday.

After opting to field first, Sukhna Zone bowled out Plaza Zone for just 143 runs in the 33rd over. Vishal Dhankar top-scored with 27 runs, followed by Gaurav Gambhir who contributed 25.

In reply, Sukhna Zone were in early trouble at 53/4. However, Gagan Verma steadied the innings by stitching an 80-run partnership with Raman Bishnoi who made a vital 37 runs. Their stand took Sukhna Zone close to the target which was eventually chased down in the 34th over with five wickets in hand.
