Recovered over 9 Kg of Alprazolam Tablets (Commercial Quantity) & seized 01 motorcycle used in commission of crime , The recovered drug is worth approx. Rs. 1 Crore in international market.

The ANTF, Crime Branch developed intelligence about the drug traffickers. Consequently, two drug traffickers were arrested namely Nishant Pal and Ajay Kumar , from whom over 9 Kg of Alprazolam Tablets and one motorcycle used in commission of crime has been recovered. A case vide FIR No. 194/2025 dt. 28.07.2025, u/s 22(c)/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi in this regard.
(SUBHEAD)On 28.07.2025, a tip off was received by HC Deepak Parewa and ASI Satbir Singh posted with ANTF, Crime Branch regarding supply of illegal drugs/psychotropic substance near Dilshad Garden Metro Station, Delhi. Acting upon the information the team laid a trap at Apasra Border- Anand Vihar ISBT Flyover Delhi and a person namely Nishant Pal s/o Rajender Pal r/o Girdhar Enclave, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP (Age 23 years) was apprehended with a Motorcycle No. UP14EZ3166 (Splendor plus). After the compliance of mandatory provisions of NDPS Act, total 6.240 KG Alprazolam Tablets equivalent to about 60 Thousand tablets were recovered from a khaki carton which he was carrying on the motorcycle.
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, IPS, DCP, ANTF, Crime Branch, said during further investigation and on disclosure by the arrested accused, another person namely Ajay Kumar s/o Ramdas r/o Ashok Vatika, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, U.P was arrested on 07.08.2025 and on his instance additional recovery of over 3 kilograms of Alprazolam tablets was effected from his godown located in Rajender Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The total recovery reflects the magnitude of the cartel’s operations, particularly given that the commercial quantity for Alprazolam mentioned under the NDPS Act is only 100 grams.
KNOW THE ACCUED: Nishant Pal r/o Girdhar Enclave, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP, age 23 years – He was born in a lower middle-class family and studied upto 12th class (Bio stream). He used to work in a medical shop and gained good knowledge of medicines. He used to supply the Alprazolam tablets in different parts of Delhi-NCR without prescription/invoices on demand, for extra money for each delivery.
Ajay R/o Ashok Vatika, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP, age-23 years – He belongs to a middle-class family and studied up to 12th class (Bio stream). He used to work with a MR and gained good knowledge of medicines. He used to work as a middleman to supply the Alprazolam tablets without prescription/invoices on demand in different parts in Delhi-NCR on commission basis for each delivery.
Efforts are underway to make more arrests and unearth the complete cartel.
