Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukkhu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of Nalin Acharya, former president of Chandigarh Press Club, better known as Bandhu Ji in Himachal Pradesh. He was 67 years old.
The Chief Minister said that Nalin Acharya was a dedicated and courageous journalist who maintained value based journalism throughout his career. His contributions to the field of journalism, especially his commitment to highlighting issues of public interest, will always be remembered.
Mr. Sukkhu said that the passing away of Nalin Acharya is a great loss to the media world and society as a whole. Nalin Acharya's father, Santosh Kumar, started journalism from Shivalik Sandesh in 1976 from Shimla and from Veer Himachal in 1980. Nalin Acharya also started his journalistic career with Veer Himachal newspaper in Shimla.
The Chief Minister prayed to God to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved relatives to bear this irreparable loss.
