CBI COURT SENTENCES 10 ACCUSED TO 5 YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT IN VYAPAM SCAM CASE

The CBI Court, Indore, on Tuesday has convicted and sentenced all 10 charge-sheeted accused persons, namely, Rameshwar; Rakesh; Devendra. Chetan; Balram; Harpal; Gopal; Jitendra; Dinesh and Digvijay Singh Solanki to Five Years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a Fine of Rs. 3,000 each in the case relating to Impersonation by cheating in Patwari Recruitment Exam- 2008 (Vyapam Scam Case).

The case against the accused persons was registered under FIR No. 557/2012 dated 26.10.2012 at Police Station Kotwali, Distt. – Khargone. The allegation was that the accused persons had cheated by producing forged certificates in the Patwari Recruitment Examination, 2008 conducted by Vyapam and used forged certificates/ documents as genuine and got themselves selected in the exam. After investigation, Khargone Police submitted Charge Sheet No.221/14 dated 28.05.2014 in the Competent Court.

In compliance to the order of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, FIR No. 557/2012 dated 26.10.2012 was taken over by the CBI. 

The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused persons accordingly.
