Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, during his Punjab visit on Sunday, paid obeisance at the historic Gurudwara Charan Kanwal Sahib in Machhiwara, Ludhiana, and sought blessings of Guru Sahib. Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said he felt extremely fortunate visiting this sacred place. He said this is the historic site where the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, had undertaken rigorous penance and imparted lessons of righteousness, courage and humanity to the nation and society.

He said the Gurus always fought for the welfare of society and the nation and made great sacrifices. We should serve the nation by following their teachings and the path shown by them. He said that getting the opportunity to visit and bow his head at such a sacred place, where Guru Gobind Singh Ji had set foot and guided society, was a matter of great fortune for him.

Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said that had the Gurus not made such sacrifices, our history would have been very different today. The Gurus struggled and sacrificed not for any one section, but for the entire society and the whole nation. Their teachings should be imbibed and carried forward. He said that from time to time he has been fortunate to visit the sacred land of the Gurus.

Replying to another question, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that some people make irresponsible statements only to serve their political interests, which is completely inappropriate. Such language should neither be spoken nor even thought of in reference to the Gurus. Without naming anyone, he said that making such remarks by some opposition leaders is condemnable.

On the occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chief Minister’s OSD Dr. Prabhleen Singh, Gurudwara Management Committee President Jasbir Singh, and Head Granthi Giani Harcharan Singh were also present.

Thereafter, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini visited the ancient Shri Mukteshwar Shiv Temple (Muktidham), Chehlan, where he offered prayers and performed Jalabhishek, and sought divine blessings for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state and the country.
