CRADLE FOR ABANDONED BABIES INAUGURATED AT JAN SEVA HOSPITAL

The 'Cradle for Abandoned Babies' (Palna) established at Jan Seva Hospital, Sriganganagar through the efforts of the Child Welfare Committee and the State Child Empowerment Department, was inaugurated by the committee's chairperson, Joginder Kaushik.

Present on the occasion were trainee IPS officer Gyanendra Bharti, trainee RPS officer Priyanka, committee member Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, Assistant Director of the Child Empowerment Department Renu Khairwa, Superintendent of the Government Observation and Juvenile Home Rajiv Jakhar, Medical Superintendent of Jan Seva Hospital Dr. H.S. Bindra, Chief Administrative Officer Prof. Baljeet Kuladia, and Head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department Dr. Shelly Mago.

This cradle will function in light of the social sensitivity and positive approach of Dr. Mohit Tantia, Vice Chairperson of Tantia University. Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma stated that the committee has resolved to establish cradles at various medical facilities in the district to protect the right to life of every new born child.

Seven cradles have already been established at various sub-divisional headquarters in the district, and today, the eighth cradle was inaugurated with the cooperation of the Tantia Group. Assistant Director Renu Khairwa and Superintendent Rajiv Jakhar explained that any unwanted new born baby can be left in the cradle anonymously. Many people, including Child Helpline coordinator Trilok Verma and Raj Kumar Jain were present on this occasion.
