During the operation, Manjeet Singh (45), a resident of Chhine Wale Jhugge, was nabbed and 5.507 kg heroin was recovered from him. “The accused was in contact with Pakistani smugglers and had recently received the consignment from across the border”, said SSP adding that the accused had been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Sadar police station.

In another case, the police arrested one Harpreet Singh alias Guggu alias Happy, a resident of Udaykaran village in Muktsar Sahib, near Gokhil Wala village while he was travelling in a Swift car.
