Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead in broad daylight on Friday morning in Jalandhar. The sensational incident took place in the posh Model Town area, creating panic and shock across the city.

According to information, 52-year-old Lucky Oberoi had arrived at a local Gurdwara Sahib around 7:15 a.m. to offer prayers, as part of his daily routine. After paying obeisance, when he came out and was about to sit in his Thar vehicle, unidentified assailants riding an Activa scooter opened indiscriminate fire on his car.

The attackers first fired multiple shots at the vehicle, shattering its windows, and then directly targeted Oberoi. A total of six bullets were fired—five hit his chest and one struck his head. Critically injured, Lucky Oberoi collapsed on the driver’s seat of the car. The assailants fled the spot immediately after the attack. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police reached the scene and cordoned off the area. CCTV footage from nearby locations is being examined to identify and trace the attackers.
