The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Assistant Garrison Engineer, E/M-II and Junior Engineer, E/M-II, of Military Engineering Services, Khadki, Pune while demanding and accepting a Bribe of Rs. Two Lakh from the complainant.
The CBI registered the instant case on 03.02.2026 against the said accused based on a complaint alleging demand of undue advantage of Rs. 6,00,000 by the accused Assistant Garrison Engineer and Junior Engineer. The complainant, holding Power of Attorney for a Private company , is executing MES contracts. Despite completion of works and submission of completion certificates, payments were allegedly withheld to coerce payment of bribe. After negotiation, the accused officials agreed to accept an undue advantage of Rs. 2,00,000 as the first instalment .
The CBI laid a trap on 05.02.2026 and caught the Junior Engineer while accepting a bribe of Rs. 2 Lakh from the complainant. The bribe amount was recovered from his office. Assistant Garrison Engineer was also arrested for his role in the conspiracy.
Searches conducted at residential and office premises of the accused led to the recovery of documents and unexplained cash of ₹1,88,500.
Investigation is continuing.
