Sriganganagar police have decided to target the drug mafia in Punjab and Haryana. The properties acquired through drug trafficking by the mafias, who supply drugs to Sriganganagar, will be frozen under the NDPS Act.

A list of such criminals will be prepared, and special police teams will be formed to conduct legal proceedings in the neighbouring states against the traffickers who had been named in the cases registered in the past. A district-level 10-hour marathon meeting was held at Sriganganagar to focus particularly on old, pending, and organized crime cases.

District Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan stated that a thorough review of the entire law and order situation and crime status in Sriganganagar district was conducted during the meeting. Instructions were also given for strict preventive action against criminals involved in organized crime, history-sheeters, and hardcore criminals.

The SP said that locations in the district with high levels of drug abuse are being identified. Legal action will be taken. Cooperation of the general public will also be sought for drug de-addiction. For this purpose, the police will organize drug de-addiction awareness camps to engage directly with the public, gather feedback, and eradicate the drug network from its roots. Orders were also given for the swift arrest of those involved in robbery, theft, burglary, the district's top 10 criminals, wanted criminals, and those with outstanding warrants.
