CBI ARRESTS DELHI JAL BOARD EMPLOYEE IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Peon cum Assistant Meter Reader, Delhi Jal Board, Zone-VI, Seelampur and a Private Person in a bribery case

The CBI registered the instant case, based on a complaint, on 08.02.2026 against the accused employee of Delhi Jal Board. It was alleged that the accused Employee of Delhi Jal Board demanded a bribe of Rs. 12000 from the complainant for rectifying and waiving off the pending water bill of the complainant’s house. Out of Rs. 12000, the accused took Rs. 5,500 from the complainant on 03.02.2026 and demanded the remaining amount of Rs. 6500 for settling the bill.

The CBI laid a trap on 09.02.2026 and caught the accused Peon cum Assistant Meter Reader, Delhi Jal Board and a Private Person red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of Rs. 6,500 from the complainant. Both the accused have been arrested.

Further investigation is underway.
