NATIONAL SEMINAR DISCUSSES TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN SOCIETY: OPPORTUNITIES, RISKS AND CHALLENGES

Abhishek College organized a one-day National Seminar titled “Technology Driven Society: Opportunities, Risks, and Challenges” via virtual mode, in special collaboration with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda. The event was held under the guidance of Chief Patron Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Vice Chancellor of MRSPTU, with significant leadership provided by Chief Coordinator Ramneek Middha, Executive Director Dr. Shakuntala Middha, Convener Dr. Rajveer Kaur. 

IQAC Coordinator Priyanka Juneja welcomed all. The seminar was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Sriparna Saha from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, highlighted the profound impact of technology on modern youth and the necessity of a balanced approach toward digital growth. Dr. Navdeep Kanwal from Punjabi University Patiala provided an in-depth analysis of cyber security, digital dependency, and the ethical dilemmas inherent in a tech-centric world. 

Over 20 research papers presented by scholars. Notable presenters included faculty and researchers from Sadbhavna College of Education for Women (Raikot), University College (Guddha and Barnala), MIMIT College (Malout), and Punjabi University Patiala, alongside representatives from the host institution. The event was structured into two technical sessions chaired by Dr. Navdeep Kanwal and Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Guru Kashi University), respectively. Students engaged enthusiastically during these sessions, fostering a highly interactive environment through insightful Q&A segments with the experts.
