Local Police reported to have arrested three three accused — Mohammad Shah Alam, Mohammad Shah Nawaz Shamsi, and Karan Gaurav involved in operating their network from the sixth floor of Block D-3 at Penta Homes in Zirakpur duping innocents by luring online cricket betting.

SHO Satinder Singh stated that ASI Gurnam Singh, along with his team, was on patrol duty when they received a tip-off near Patiala Chowk. The informer revealed that the accused were luring innocent people with promises of easy money through online cricket betting and persuading them to transfer funds into their bank accounts.

Acting swiftly on the information, the police conducted a raid and initiated legal proceedings. During the preliminary investigation, it was found that the accused had allegedly committed offences under Sections 3 and 4 of the Gambling Act and Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The accused were produced before a court, which granted a three-day police remand for further interrogation. Police officials have begun a detailed investigation into the case.
