CHENNAI COURT SENTENCED FOUR YEARS IMPRISONMENT TO THE ACCUSED FOR FORGERY AND SECURING MULTIPLE PASSPORTS

The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, on 23.02.2026, convicted and sentenced the accused Ubaidullah @ F. Hameed @ Ubaithullah Khan Faizal to Imprisonment for 4 Years with a fine of Rs.20,000 for Forgery and Securing Multiple Passports. 

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 31.12.2018 based on allegations that the accused Ubaidullah with dishonest intention, obtained many passports in fictitious names by impersonating himself and submitting forged documents and had travelled abroad on the fake Passports thus obtained to cheat the Customs Department.

While boarding a Singapore bound flight he was apprehended by Customs Officials at Chennai International Airport for illegal possession of foreign currencies equivalent to Indian Rupees worth Rs.36.74 Lakh, without any Legal Permission. The accused had also furnished false and suppressed material information with a view to obtain Passport from the Passport authorities. 

On completion of investigation, CBI filed Chargesheet on 13.03.2020 against the said accused.
