Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana has registered a robust 22 percent increase in gross SGST collection in the current Financial Year 2025–26 over the preceding financial year, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

A spokesperson of the Department of Excise & Taxation informed that Haryana's Gross SGST collection (post-settlement) for the current Financial Year has reached Rs 44,460 Crore, which is Rs 7918 Crore more than the collection upto February in last Financial Year, thus registering a growth rate of 22%, which is highest among all States & Union Territories in the country.

As per the data released by Finance Ministry, gross SGST collection of all States & Union Territories has grown at a national average of 6% in the current Financial Year. In the month of February also, Haryana's gross SGST growth rate continues to be high with 23% growth as compared to the month of February in last Financial Year. Even in the months post GST rate rationalization done by GST Council in September 2025, Haryana continues to show steady growth in SGST collections, which not only reflects the efficient tax administration but also the healthy state of economy of the State.

CM Sh. Nayab Singh Saini had welcomed and supported the GST rate rationalization reforms in the GST Council Meeting held in September 2025 and thanked the Hon'ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. Excise & Taxation Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh informed that Haryana has total 6,22,478 GST tax-payers in the State and GST Suvidha Kendras have been opened in all the districts of Haryana for facilitating registration under GST law. The Commissioner stated that the State has been registering robust GST growth due to improved tax compliance owing mainly to several reforms done over the past few years in GST regime and better tax analysis systems adopted by officials of Excise & Taxation Department of Haryana.

With the latest amendments in GST Rules, the process of obtaining registration under GST has been improved, making it easier for low-risk & small businesses to obtain GST registration but still ensuring that fake and fraudulent applicants are not allowed to operate. The Commissioner said that this trend is also visible in State Excise & VAT/CST collections for Financial Year 2025-26 and Department will achieve the annual targets.
