Another historic ‘Bhagwati Diksha (Sant Diksha) Mahotsav’ concluded with profound devotion at Sarangpur (Gujarat) in the divine presence of the spiritual head of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj. 33 highly educated young Parshads (novice monks) were ordained as Swamis, they had received their initial Parshadi Diksha two years ago.

The 33 youths initiated now come from highly affluent material and educational backgrounds. Their ranks include 13 Engineers, 11 Graduates, 3 Master’s degree holders, 1 Doctor, 1 Architect, and 4 youths with other advanced studies. Notably, these newly initiated Swamis include 4 NRI youths raised in Canada. They have renounced their promising careers and worldly comforts to embrace the great Indian cultural tradition of renunciation.

(SUBHEAD)The Diksha Mahotsav commenced with a Vedic Mahapuja. In this historic assembly, the fathers of the initiated youths were honored by senior Swamis, while their mothers were felicitated by senior women leaders of the Sanstha.

352 youths have been ordained by Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj so far and the total number of Swamis in the BAPS Sanstha has reached a historic milestone of 1,234. These highly educated Swamis of the UN-affiliated BAPS Sanstha dedicate their entire lives to service and devotion, adhering to their Guru’s commands, without taking a single day off or receiving any form of salary.
