RPF REUNITES 157 CHILDREN WITH FAMILIES UNDER SPECIAL OPERATIONS, RETURNS LOST BELONGINGS WORTH OVER Rs 60 LAKH

The RPF of the Ferozepur Railway Division have returned the lost belongings worth over Rs 60 lakh to passengers and reunited 157 missing children with their families during the current financial year from April to February 2026.

(MOREPIC1)  While divulging details, DRM Sanjeev Kumar said that the RPF has been carrying out several focused operations to ensure the safety of passengers and protection of railway property across the division. “These initiatives have not only helped passengers recover their valuables but have also strengthened security and awareness among rail users”, said DRM.

The DRM said that under Operation Amanat, the RPF traced and returned lost belongings in 392 cases to passengers. “The total value of the recovered items amounted to Rs 60. 23 lakh which included laptops, mobile phones, bags, purses and other valuable items. Under the Operation Nanhe Farishte carried out by RPF, runaway or abducted children were reunited with their families. During the drive, a total of 157 children including 119 boys and 38 girls, were safely reunited with their families”, said DRM.

(SUBHEAD)The DRM said that in addition, the RPF conducted Operation Jan Jagran to spread awareness among railway passengers about safety measures. As part of this campaign, 285 awareness drives were organised during which 635 passengers were sensitized while 754 unauthorized persons were arrested under the campaign.

Meanwhile, under Operation Dastak, the RPF launched action against unauthorized vendors operating at railway stations. A total of 1,423 cases were registered during the drive and fines amounting to Rs 1,71200 were recovered from violators.
