Face2News/Chandigarh

For the first time in the country, a major platform for para kabaddi at the senior level is being established. The Para Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (PAKFI) is set to organize the first-ever Senior National Para Kabaddi Championship from March 29 to March 31 at Chandigarh University.

The event is affiliated with the Paralympic Committee of India, and around 24 teams from across the country will participate. Para athletes will showcase their talent, determination, and sportsmanship during the competition.

A press conference regarding the championship was held today at the Chandigarh Press Club, where several key office bearers of the organizing body were present. These included PAKFI President Rajinder Kumar Saini, General Secretary Gurdeep Singh, Technical Director Pawan Rana, Treasurer Baljeet Singh, and Kabaddi promoter Ramesh.

Rajinder Kumar Saini stated that this championship will not only be a sporting event but will also prove to be a historic initiative in the development of para sports in the country. He added that all preparations, including accommodation for players, technical arrangements, rules and regulations, and logistics, have been finalized to ensure the successful conduct of the event.

Several renowned personalities from the sports world are expected to attend the national championship, encouraging and supporting the para athletes.

The primary objective of this event is to promote para kabaddi in the country, provide equal opportunities and recognition to differently-abled athletes, and offer them a platform to progress at national and international levels.

Additionally, creating better career and employment opportunities for players is also a key goal of this initiative.

According to the organizers, they are committed to strengthening an inclusive sports culture in India and empowering para athletes to excel on the global stage.
