CM JAI RAM THAKUR CONDOLES SAD DEMISE OF PADAM SHREE CHARANJIT SINGH FORMER CAPTAIN OF INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had condoled the sad demise of Padam Shree Charanjit Singh, former Captain of Indian hockey team who won gold medal in Tokyo Olympics in 1964.

Charanjit Singh hailed from Mairi in Amb sub division of Una district. He breathed his last today at his native place. He was 92.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that Charanjit Singh was an excellent sportsman who was conferred Padam Shree and Arjun award for his outstanding contributions in sports.

Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile Chief Minister also expressed grief over the demise of Kashmiri Lal Joshi former MLA of the then Santokhgarh Assembly Constituency (now Haroli), who passed away in Una district today. He was 84. 

The Chief Minister in his condolence message to the bereaved family said that Kashmiri Lal Joshi was honest and dedicated person who always devoted himself for the cause of the masses. He said that the services rendered by him for the welfare of the people of the area would always be remembered. He prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.
