EXCISE DEPTT. CANCELLED THE LICENCE OF BEVERAGES COMPANY IN SIRMAUR DISTT. ON COMMITTING IRREGULARITIES

The Department of Tax and Excise reportedly cancelled the license of a said Beverages Company. While giving the details Commissioner, State Tax and Excise Mr. Yunus said that the department is continuously taking action against the traders of illicit liquor. In continuation of this, the department has taken major action in Sirmaur district.

He said that for some time the department was investigating irregularities committed by a liquor factory located at Paonta Sahib, Nariwala in Sirmaur district. This high-level inquiry found irregularities and lapses related to the making, handling and transportation of liquor.

It was also found that the said Beverages Company transported about 900 boxes of liquor without any valid pass or permit. Apart from this, it was also found that the said company has repeatedly violated the terms and conditions of the license and even before that heavy fine/punitive action has been taken against it.(SUBHEAD)

Taking strong cognizance of this, the department has canceled the license of the said liquor factory and has also ordered to seal the factory. This action has been taken under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act, Distilleries Rules and HP Bonded Warehouse Rules.

He said that a few days ago, the Noorpur team of the Excise Department had also taken joint action against the illegal liquor makers in Chhani Valley, a border area with Punjab. The department was getting information about making illegal liquor in this area. Despite being a marginal area, the department took action in this area and after completing the legal process, about 85000 liters of raw liquor was destroyed. 

He said that the department is taking strict action against those who make illegal liquor and this process will continue in future also.
