GOVT MAKING EXTENSIVE EFFORTS TO EVACUATE INDIAN CITIZENS FROM UKRAINE, SEVERAL RETURNED HOME SAFELY: ANIL VIJ

Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the government is making every effort to evacuate Indian nationals from Ukraine. So far, several citizens have been evacuated and brought back to the country safely. Ishika Bhutani, a student from Ambala Cantonment, Kachha Bazar, who returned safely from Ukraine on Thursday, met Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij at his residence and expressed gratitude. 

Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the government is making extensive efforts to evacuate the citizens and students of the country from Ukraine. Apart from airlines, Air Force's C-17 Globemaster planes are bringing back citizens from Romania, Hungary, Poland and other countries. The Home Minister also took information from the student Ishika regarding which city of Ukraine she was studying and from which border she returned. He also told her about the efforts being made by the Government of India to bring back the citizens and students. (SUBHEAD)

Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij had written to the Foreign Minister in this regard. 

Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that he had written a letter to the country's External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar requesting him to take back the citizens of Haryana and was also told what helpdesks have been set up on the borders of Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia to evacuate students and citizens. 

Our daughter returned alive due to the efforts and prayers of Home Minister Anil Vij – evacuee’s father 

Ishika's father Vinay Bhutani expressed gratitude to the Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij and said that due to the prayers and efforts of Home Minister Anil Vij, his daughter was able to come back alive today. He said that the family had appealed to Home Minister Anil Vij a few days ago to bring back his daughter safely and today his daughter has returned, which has brought relief to him and the entire family. 

Stayed in the shelter for two days in Romania, the government provided food and other facilities- Ishika Bhutani

Ishika Bhutani, an MBBS student who returned from Ukraine, expressed gratitude to the Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij shared that she was studying in Vinnitsa in Ukraine. She said that the bus was provided by the college for Romania border.

Arrangements were made by the Government of India at the Romania border. She elaborated that she stayed at a shelter home in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, for two days and was then brought to the country on the night of March 1 via an airline. Ishika said that thanks to the government of the country, thousands of citizens have been able to return safely from Ukraine.
