B.VOC Course (Media & Entertainment) has evolved into one of the most rigorous professional courses in education, allowing students to study modern media learning and vast work opportunities. Therefore, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at GGDSD College conducted a 2-day career Counselling session for class 12thstudents on 11th-12th May 2022.
The goal of this awareness session was to make students aware about a three-year undergraduate degree in Media & Entertainment that offers exit points after the first and second years. The Two-Daysessions were attended by students and teachers from PML SD Public School and Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23, Chandigarh.
Principal , Dr Ajay Sharma while addressing the students said ,” It is very important to make informed and practical career options . They should take career decisions based on the demand and requirement’s of the future .(SUBHEAD)
Dr.Priya Chadha, Head, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, apprised the students of various courses offered by the department at GGDSD college.Ms.GurjeetKaur and Dr.DivyaJyoti and Ms Gurjeet Kaur , faculty in the department of journalism and Mass Communication urged students to enrol in the B.VOC course in Media and Entertainment course , which will prepare them to establish a name for themselves in the field of journalism.
They mentioned that the department has collaborations with MY FM and PTC Punjab News Channel, allowing students to hone their skills through this job-oriented skill-based training. Gurjeet Kaur , gave power point presentation of the infrastructure and resources that the department provides to students. She stated that the department has television and radio studio with latest industry software’s and equipment’s students hands-on exposure. To develop their communication skills, creative abilities, and technical capabilities, students can explore their potential in the fields of anchoring, field reporting, photography and Radio Jockey.
As part of the awareness session series, the department will continue to hold such workshops to inform students about the prospects available to them by enrolling in the B. VOC course (Media & Entertainment) at GGDSD College, Sector-32, Chandigarh.
