Cyber Crime Investigation Cell, Chandigarh has achieved a major success in arrest of four accused from Delhi NCR. For this SP CCIC formed a special team of CCIC under the supervision of DSP/CCIC headed by Incharge/CCIC, in Case FIR No. 64, Dated: 06.05.2022, U/S U/s 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 B IPC of PS-39 Chd. , to apprehend the criminals involved in cheating of Rs. 8.50 Lacks
The brief of the case are that CCIC had received a complaint from Dinesh Kapoor from Chandigarh in which he mentioned that he received calls from unknown numbers and caller allured him to purchase the insurance policy with the huge amount of bonus and maturity amount and after their allurement he purchased insurance policy of Shree Ram life Insurance, PNB MetLife Insurance, but he did not received any bonus which was offered him at the activation of insurance policies. After that he received call from other unknown number and he asked that he can help him to release his bonus of insurance policies and demanded money and after that he deposited the money in the accounts which were provided by the caller. Total cheated amount in the name of insurance policies is 8.50 lacks.(SUBHEAD)
During the course of investigation accused (1) Deepak Kumar S/o Harpal Singh, # N/9/9, St.No. 14, Bharam Puri, Delhi, Age 32 Years. (2) Jatinder Kumar Paras S/o Brham Dutt, Vill Vichola, Tehsil Khurja, Distt Bulandshar, U.P., Age 29 Years. (3) Rohit Kumar S/o Mahabir Prasad, # KA 391, Sector 12, Partap Vihar, Ghaziabad, UP, Age 29 Years. (4) Saqib Khan S/o Javed Khan # C 44/317 Gali No. 16, Gamri Sudama Puri, Delhi, Age 26 Years, have arrested from Sector 63 Noida, U.P. on 24.05.2022 Mobile phones which are involved in cheating have been recovered from their possession
During interrogation they disclosed that they used to make calls to people for activation of wrong or fake policies with the benefits of huge bonus and maturity amount. After the activation of insurance policy they become the official of NPCI, IRDA and call the policy holder and again allured him/ her to release their policy bonus and cheat them accordingly.
They are also having the data of lapsed insurance policies and they made calls to those people to help in release of policy maturity amount.
All accused has been produced before the Hon’ble Court today and their police custody till 27th May 2022 granted by the court. Investigation is going to know the where abouts of other accused in case and other aspects in case.
