75 LAKH PEOPLE TO PLANT 75 LAKH SAPLINGS IN 75 DAYS

Abohar: The Brahma Kumaris organization has launched an environmental protection programme to plant 75 lakh saplings by 75 lakh people in 75 days across the country. It was inaugurated by Kalraj Mishra, Governor of Rajasthan by planting a sapling at Gyan Sarovar.

Governor Kalraj Mishra stressed on the formulation of eco-friendly policies based on the Sanatan Indian vision of nature conservation to promote balanced development. He said that scientific development is meaningful only as long as it does not adversely affect the environment and ecological balance. That is why we should live life in harmony with nature.

Mishra said that the main cause of the environmental crisis is to ignore the “Panchabhuta” elements by distancing oneself from nature. Efforts to accelerate development by neglecting nature and consumerism have called for natural and biological disasters.(SUBHEAD)

He expressed happiness that under the “Kalp Taruh Abhiyan”, 75 lakh saplings of humanly useful species would be planted by 75 lakh people by August 25, 2022, the Memorial Day of Dadi Prakashmani, former chief of the NGO and a recipient of UNO’s Peace Award. Along with planting these plants, full care should also be taken till they grow up.

“Kalp Taruh” is a key plantation project cum mechanism by Brahma Kumaris to ensure land restoration and promote higher order values for building a better civilized society and support many of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The Governor inaugurated the drive to plant medicinal plants in Arogya Van being developed at Trauma Center located at Abu Road. Dr Pratap Middha, Director, Global Hospital and Research Center presented a mango sapling to the Governor, which was planted in Arogya Van.

Executive Secretary of Brahma Kumaris BK Mrityunjaya and joint chief Administrator BK Santosh also spoke on the occasion.
