FIVE MOBILES RECOVERED FROM FEROZEPORE JAIL

Two undertrials besides few unidentified persons have been booked following the recovery of five mobile phones in the jail premises. As per information, the jail officials recovered one mobile phone from an undertrial identified as Gurbaj Singh (keypad phone with SIM and battery). One more mobile phone ((touch screen without SIM) was recovered from the ventilator during the checking of the barrack number three.

A case under sections 52-A Prisons Act was registered against Gurbaj and unidentified persons at city police station (FIR No. 188 Dated 10.06.2022).(SUBHEAD)

In another case, an undertrial identified as Arshdeep Singh besides few unidentified persons were booked following the recovery of two mobile phones following which an FIR under prisons act was registered against the accused.

Earlier on June 6, four mobile phones were recovered from the jail following which one undertrial identified as Namandeep Singh was booked at city police station (FIR No. 178 Dated 05.06.2022).

It is pertinent to mention here that more than fifteen mobile phones have been recovered within two weeks from the central jail.
