(MOREPIC1) Ferozepur: Panic gripped the area following the body of an elderly woman was found in rotten condition inside a bed from her residence. As per information, the deceased Veena (70) was living alone in her house situated in the heart of the city. She had given her house on rent and the tenants had also gone missing.
For the last three days, the house was locked. The matter came to fore when the neighbours observed foul smell emanating from the house and feeling dubious, they informed the matter to police.
As soon as the matter was reported to the police, senior police officials including SP Investigation Gurbinder Singh Sangha, DSP Satvinder Singh Virk along with others reached the spot. During the checking of the house, the police recovered the dead body of Veena inside a bed, which was in rotten condition.
“The lady had two daughters and one son while her husband had passed few years ago. Her son is working in Gurugram, one daughter is married at some other city while one daughter is married in Ferozepur. We have informed the family members about the incident”, said SP.
(SUBHEAD)“The lady had given one portion of her house on rent to two persons. The tenants of the house are also missing. During the preliminary investigation, it seems that they might have killed the elderly lady and kept her body inside the bed”, SP further added.
A team of forensic expert was called to collect the evidences. Meanwhile the body of the deseased was sent for the post-mortem.
