DELHI POLICE ARRETED ONE IRANIAN NATIONAL IMPERSONATED AS INTELLIGENCE AGENT INVOLVED IN THEFT

The staff of PS Lajpat Nagar of South East District has arrested one Iranian National Hossein Rezafard Ahmad. With his arrest, 2000 USD, 4000 Sudanese Pound, 28,000 Iranian Riyal, 200 Saudi Riyal, 5000 INR and one car used in commission of offence have been recovered from his possession.

Police said, on 14.06.2022, complainant Mr Mohd Bakry visited PS Lajpat Nagar and alleged that at around 04:40 pm, he along with his wife was returning from SCI Hospital, Greater Kailash. All of a sudden, three persons came in one SX4 car and stopped them. Thereafter, they introduced themselves as officials from intelligence agency and started taking search of his hand bag on the pretext that he might be carrying drugs. After searching their bag, they fled away from the spot. When complainant looked into his hand bag, he found that the cash currency including Rs. 50,000/- , USD 6500/- and some Sudanese Pound were missing. Accordingly, a case e-FIR No. 273/22 u/s 379 IPC was registered at PS Lajpat Nagar and investigation of the case was taken up.

Sensing the gravity of offence, a dedicated team comprising ASI Sunil Kumar, HC Bharat and Ct Rajender Singh led by SHO/Lajpat Nagar under the supervision of ACP/Lajpat Nagar was constituted to nab the culprits. The team analyzed the CCTV footages of the cameras installed near the place of incidence a suspected car bearing No. DL2CAL-XXXX was identified.

The said car was found registered in the name of a tourism firm in Village Mahipalpur, Delhi. The team approached the owner of the firm who stated that he had sold the car around 3 months back to one Nawab. On reaching his last address, it was found that Nawab had already left Gurgaon. Mobile number of Nawab was put on surveillance.(SUBHEAD)

On the basis of the electronic surveillance one more number which was in constant touch with Nawab was put on surveillance and the team succeeded in arresting Nawab’s co-associate Hossein Rezafard Ahmad s/o Ahemed R/o Lajpat Nagar-II, Delhi age 46 yrs. He was taken in to police custody. During the course of investigation, he confessed his crime. With his arrest, and 2000 USD, 4000 Sudanese Pound, 28,000 Iranian Riyal, 200 Saudi Riyal, 5000 INR and one car used in commission of offence have been recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case is under progress to nab his co-associates. Accused Hossein Rezafard Ahmad s/o Ahemed R/o Lajpat Nagar-II, Delhi age 46 yrs has studied up to 12th class. No previous involvement has been found against him.
