The staff of New Delhi District has arrested a woman drug peddler namely Laxmi r/o Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi, age – 45 years. 1.560 kgs of marijuana was recovered from her possession. She used to sale marijuana in small quantity to her customers. Rs. 13000/- cash, which is sale proceeds of marijuana was also recovered from her possession.
On 01.07.2022, a secret information was received that a drug peddler is active in the area of New Delhi District. Acting on the tip off, a team under supervision of Sh. Rakesh Kumar, ACP/Operations and consisting of Inspr. Ramnivas, Insp. Sunil K. Chandolia, SI Satender Singh Yadav, ASI Rajesh, ASI Sanjay Tyagi, HC Vijay Pal, HC Sunil, Ct. Vikram, Ct. Dileep and W/Ct. Sangeeta was constituted to apprehend the drug peddler.(SUBHEAD)
Mr. Amrutha Googolth, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said, the team reached Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi, where a lady was found present and she was carrying a bag. As per information the lady was indulged in drug trafficking. On verification from sources, it was found that the lady is a drug-trafficker. She was apprehended and her search was carried by W/Ct. Sangeeta, as per law and procedure.
On search of her bag one packet containing marijuana and Rs. 13,000/- cash was recovered. On weighing, the recovered drug’s weight was found to be 1.560 kgs. On interrogation she disclosed that the recovered cash is her today’s sale proceeds of the drug. Accordingly, FIR No. 84/22, u/s 20/61/85 NDPS Act was registered at PS Parliament Street and investigation of the case was taken up.
ACCUSED PROFILE: Laxmi is a drug trafficker. Her son Badal is also a drug trafficker and presently is in JC in case FIR No. 86/19, 21/61/85 NDPS Act, Police Station Crime Branch. She is previously involved in following three cases of drug trafficking.
