In an initiative to empower women and celebrate the success of the local women folks, the District Administration today christened one of the prominent roads as ” Nari Shakti Marg” wherein portraits of the distinguished women belonging to this border town have been placed.

While inaugurating the same, Amrit Singh Deputy Commissioner said that these women have broken the glass ceiling and created landmarks in various fields. As an ode to them, this road has been dedicated to highlight their achievements and to honor them so that they become an inspiration for other young girls in the region.

She said that their success would instill a sense of faith and confidence amongst youth of this aspirational district ” The idea is to give the girls the much needed support so that they can achieve anything that they put their minds to” said DC, adding that this initiative would go a long way in changing the perception of how society views women.(SUBHEAD)
