FEROZEPUR’S NANCY BAGS FIRST POSITION IN THE STATE

Nancy, a student of Government High School in Satiyewala proved her mettle in the Class X board exams, the result of which were declared today by the Punjab School Education Board ,by securing first position in the entire state. Nancy secured 644 marks out of 650 marks (overall 99.07 percent).

As soon as the news regarding her position in the state was confirmed, the relatives made a beeline to her house and the parents distributed sweets. “I am feeling at the top of the world today. I have worked very hard but I never thought that I will secure the first position in the entire state”, said Nancy.

“I used to take rest for 4-5 hours only. Besides studies, I also help my mother in stitching work and other day to day works. “, said Nancy. Regarding her future plans, Nancy said that she want to become a teacher. “Math and English are my favorite subjects. I want to take admission in Non-medical stream in the next session”, she said.(SUBHEAD)

As per information, Nancy’s father Ramkrishan is a carpenter while her mother Sandeep is a tailor. “I am feeling proud of my daughter today. As a student, I always wanted to see my photo published in a newspaper but due to financial restraints, I could not fulfill my dream and I had to leave my studies after completing my matriculation. Even my husband is not well educated but today we are feeling that Nancy has fulfilled our dream”, said Sandeep mother of Nancy.

Nancy’s elder brother Sahil is studying in 12th class at Government Senior Secondary School, Bajidpur while her younger brother Dheeraj is studying in 8th class in her school.

Parveen Kumari, Principal of Government High School, Satiyewala said that Nancy had come to this school in class 8th. “She has always been a topper in the class. She is introvert by nature but she was always ready to take the responsibility.”, said Principal Parveen Kumari.
