15 MOBILE PHONES, 03 LAPTOPS AND 01 LED TV RECOVERED, 8 GAMBLING NOTE BOOKS, THREE BANK ACCOUNTS HAVING RS 1.91 LACS FREEZED

The staff of Anti- Narcotic Cell of South East District has arrested three gamblers Sirajuddin @ Sonu, Rahul and Adil Saifi. With their arrest, 15 mobile phones, 03 laptops, one Led Tv and eight gambling notebooks recovered from their possession have been seized. In addition to it, three bank accounts having Rs 1.91 lacs have also been freezed.
On 07.07.2022, a piece of secret information was received regarding running a gambling racket in the area of Kalkaji, Delhi. Acting on to the secret tip, a team comprising SI Amit Grewal, ASI Salimuddin, ASI Ashok Dahiya, ASI Binod, HC Tarikat, HC Mahender and Ct. Himanshu led by Inspr. Rakesh Sharma under the supervision of ACP/Ops. was constituted to nab the gamblers.
The team raided at said location under the direction of senior officials where it found three persons were betting on a live cricket match of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TPL).(SUBHEAD)
After seeing the police party, they tried to flee away but all of them were apprehended on the spot by the police staff. On enquiry, they were identified as Sirajuddin @ Sonu s/o Shabbir Ahmed R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi age 35 yrs, Rahul Sharma s/o Lt. Paveen R/o Sadar Bazar, Delhi age 35 yrs and Adil Saifi s/o Abdul Mazeed R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi age 22 yrs. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 473/22 u/s 03/04/05/09/55 Gambling Act was registered at PS Kalkaji.
With their arrest, 15 mobile phones, 03 laptops, one Led Tv and eight gambling notebooks used in commission of crime recovered from their possession have been seized. In addition to it, three bank accounts having Rs 1.91 lacs have also been freezed. Further investigation of the case is under progress.
Ms. Esha Pandey, IPS, DCP, Said, on On sustained interrogation, all accused persons disclosed that they are addicted to alcohol and smoking. They have nothing to do to earn their livelihood. Further, they disclosed that they used to bet on live cricket matches with high end software and instruments. In order to earn quick money in short frame of time, they started gambling with their mates to meet their requirements.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:-
Accused Sirajuddin @ Sonu s/o Shabbir Ahmed R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi age 35 yrs has studied up to 10th class. He used to run a mobile shop. No previous involvement has been found against him.
Accused Rahul Sharma s/o Lt. Paveen R/o Sadar Bazar, Delhi age 35 yrs has studied up to 08th class. He used to operate the laptops during the betting on cricket matches. No previous involvement has been found against him.
Accused Adil Saifi s/o Abdul Mazeed R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi age 22 yrs has studied up to 06th class. He used to collect betting money for Sirajuddin and receive calls during cricket matches. No previous involvement has been found against him.
