BSF CELEBERATES INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH GREAT NATIONALISTIC FERVOUR

On the occasion of 76th Independence Day, Shri Asif Jalal, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier hoisted the National Flag and sweets were distributed among the troops at Frontier Headquarter BSF Punjab, Jalandhar.

On this occasion students of BSF Sr. Sec. School, Primary School and BSF Ankur Play School, Jalandhar performed various cultural programmes showcasing the diverse culture of India with full enthusiasm.

Shri Sanjay Gaur, DIG, SHQ BSF Amritsar, hoisted the National Flag in the premises of JCP Attari, SHQ BSF Amritsar in presence of Shri Jasbir Singh, Commandant, 144 Bn BSF. DIG, SHQ BSF Amritsar congratulated all bordermen, their families and urged them to contribute in development of the country. On the occasion, the sacrifices made by freedom fighters were remembered.

The Retreat Ceremony parade was graced by the presence of Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force alongwith Shri P V Rama Sastry, IPS, ADG (Western Command) BSF Chandigarh. Various cultural programmes such as folk dance, drama and songs were performed by the students from schools / colleges of Punjab, besides the grand musical performance by Mr Jasveer Jassi, famous Bollywood singer.

On this occasion, sweets / pleasantries were exchanged between BSF and Pakistan Rangers at various locations on border.(SUBHEAD)

DG BSF was briefed by Shri Asif Jalal, IPS, IG, BSF Punjab Frontier about various Operational and Administrative activities undertaken by Punjab Frontier. DG BSF congratulated BSF and local population for active participation in making ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' campaign successful. He also appreciated the mass Plantation drive being carried-out by BSF and emphasized on the importance of such initiatives for developing a green and healthy environment for all.

All the BSF Units / Sectors / Establishments under Punjab Frontier celebrated the 76 Independence Day with great nationalistic fervour at their respective locations.
