JEEVAN AND SRIRAM UPSET THIRD SEEDS ALEXANDER AND LUCAS IN ITALY

ITALY: Trailing by one set Indian duo of N Sriram Balaji and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan rallied to upset third Austrian seeds Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler 2-6, 7-5, 10-4 in the doubles quarter-final of the match of the € 134,920 Parma Challenger, Italy.

After losing the first set, the Indian duo made a grand recovery by winning the second set and went to wrap up the match by emerging winners in the match tie-breaker. The turning point for Jeevan and Balaji came in the 11th game of the second set by breaking the serve of Lucas Miedler and led 6-5.

Jeevan served in the 12th game of the set. He fired one ace (third of the team) and went on as the Indian pair led 40-30 for two set points. They won the set 7-5 to make it one-set all.

One-set all Jeevan and Balaji looked more comfortable and assured as they took a 6-2 lead and increased it to 9-4, enjoying a five points for the match. They achieved it by posing 10-4.
