VC EMPHASIZED STRENGTHENING COLLABORATIVE RELATIONS WITH IIPA

THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH ORGANIZED A VISIT OF PARTICIPANTS OF THE 48TH APPPA COURSE BEING CONDUCTED BY THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, NEW DELHI

The Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a visit of participants of the 48th APPPA Course being conducted by the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi on Saturday.

The event started with the PU anthem in presence of PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar followed by a welcome address by Professor Sudhir Kumar, Director, Research and Development Cell, Panjab University. Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Director, IQAC, highlighted the achievements of Panjab University in academics and research.

The Vice-Chancellor in his address to the visiting participants, Professors, and research scholars highlighted that Panjab University has excelled in every field and is proud of its association with IIPA.. He emphasized on strengthening the collaborative relations with IIPA while announcing the continuation of P.U. M.Phil. degree in Social Sciences for the participants of APPPA course. He also suggested exploring opportunities of internships for the students of Panjab University with IIPA.

The Director-General of IIPA emphasized on the objectives of the Advanced Professional Program in Public Administration (APPPA) course to bring professionalism to bureaucrats through attitude and behavior change in work culture.(SUBHEAD)

Prof. V.N. Alok, Course Coordinator, 48th APPPA very briefly apprised the gathering about the aims and obhjectives of the current APPPA programme and how it had been beneficial to the participants comprising of mid-career civil servants and armed forces personnel. His address was followed by special lecture on “Evolution of Industrial Policy in India: From Mahalanobis Model to Atmanirbhar Bharat” delivered by Prof. Sanjeev Chaddha, Head, Management Development Centre, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Punjab Government. He gave a brief synopsis of how Indian state has evolved from state led economy to a self-reliant atmanirbhar economy.

Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, Panjab University concluded the day’s proceedings and proposed the formal vote of thanks.

The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Bhawna Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Administration, Panjab University.
