ASWAJIT SENJAM AND ISHIR MEHTA WON DOUBLE CROWNS

CHANDIGARH, OCT 14

Aswajit Senjam and Ishir Mehta won both singles and doubles titles in boys under-16 and 12 categories, respectively, in the St. Stephen’s School CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.

Second seed CLTA trainee Aswajti Senjam clinched the boys under-16 singles title after defeating fourth seed Anuj Pal 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets. Qualifier Ishir Mehta won the boys under-12 singles title. Ishir Mehta of Maharashtra defeated fourth seed Yug Raj Mahi of Punjab 6-0, 7-5 in straight sets.

Eighth seed Mannat Awasthi won the girls under-16 singles title. Mannat Awasthi of Chandigarh defeated Krittika Katoch of Chandigarh in straight sets 6-4, 6-3

Vanshika Yadav clinched the girls under-12 singles title. Vanshika Yadav of Chandigarh defeated third seed Maahira Bhatia of Punjab in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

Mr. John Javier, Vice Principal, St. Stephen’s School distributed the prizes to the winners and runners-up of both events.
